I , simply, came into Truist to cash a check drawn on their bank. Because I do not bank with Truist; I was told that they have to call and verify the funds. The agent at Truist has been calling; nobody answering. I am then told I have to wait until they receive return call to verify funds. Would I ever consider banking with Truist-NEGATIVE!

Worst bank ever. Apparently that’s not even their atm and they have no control over it.

If you enjoy being legally recognized as an adult everywhere except your own bank, this is the place for you. Opened an account as a minor years ago, and despite being well into adulthood — like, paying taxes, rent, and aging out of my parents' health insurance adulthood — this bank still considers the account to be under custodial control.
They never notified me that I’d need to manually request a change when I turned 18. Fast forward TEN YEARS and I still can’t withdraw or close the account without the original custodian’s approval. Apparently, I can get married, enlist, vote, and be held legally responsible for everything except managing my own money here.
I’ve dealt with condescending reps who treat my frustration like I’m the problem, endless red tape, and policies that feel like they were written with a quill pen in 1862. It’s like they’re actively trying to make it difficult just to hang onto a few bucks longer.
Avoid this place unless you want your financial life held hostage until someone grants you "permission" to access what's already legally yours.
