Nothing is good about this bank. I wanted to use their foreign currency exchange services but I had to have an account. I tried to open an account at the branch but was told I needed an appointment with a banker. They made an immediate appointment and I waited less than 5 minutes but was then told it would take 45 minutes to an hour to open the account. I declined, left and opened the account on line. Their minimum balance to avoid service charges is $1,500.00 that's ridiculous, but I went to the bank, deposited $2,000.00, and scraped a wheel on my car leaving the drive thru lane. 😑 I was unable to use the currency services on the Wells Fargo app as I was promised so I went back to the bank and asked for assistance. No one was able to help me so I left my phone number and waited about a week for a return phone call. No one called so I went to Pinnacle Financial Partners and received the foreign currency exchange services that I needed. I then returned to Wells Fargo, withdrew my $2,000.00, and asked them to close my account. They said they didn't have the authority to do that. Again, they offered to make an appointment with a "banker" or said I could call. I was driving a different car and scraped the wheel again leaving the drive thru. 😠 The branch NEVER answers their phone. The ringers are turned off! I called the 800 number and spent about an hour but was able to get a promise to have the account closed. 2 days later it was closed. I would give them zero stars if Google would allow it. * Follow-up to Becky (I expect she is AI) below. I've already provided all the information that you requested in this detailed review. If you want to forward it to yourself, knock yourself out. Regardless, I'm never banking at Wells Fargo again. If you will note, the majority of the reviews for this branch and for Wells Fargo are one star and all of them are replied to by someone from Wells Fargo asking for further action on the part of the reviewer. Never offering further action on the part of the bank. smh

Difficult to bank at this branch. Tellers pleasant but managers are difficult to in helping when there is an issue which they often create.

Let me start by first explaining I had been with Wells Fargo since 2005. I had previously had decent experiences at other branches. Unfortunately at the Tanglewood branch, I just had the worst customer service experience of my entire life. My mom is 79 years old, recently fell and broke her hip. She doesn't get around as well now and has to use a walker. Her and my dad both have accounts with Wells Fargo. Mom had a check she wanted to cash so we decided to go through the drive through window so she wouldn't have to go in. The check was only a minimal amount, way less than the amount my parents have in their account. The window teller wouldn't cash the check. Told us we had to come in the branch, never giving us a reason why she couldn't cash it. My mom has only had her accounts with Wells Fargo for three months and this was the second time she had been denied service at the drive through window. So we go inside to get the check cashed. We are met at the door by someone named, "Karlee." I'm upset at how this is all transpiring, so I let it be known at the door. I raised my voice a little but never threatened anyone, I was simply voicing my displeasure about my mom having to get out of the car, and bring her walker inside, in her current physical state. Karlee, who is a bank teller I assume, starts antagonizing me, telling me, "if you want me to help you then you're gonna have to calm down!!" Karlee actually had the nerve to tell me to, "shut my mouth and stop talking!!!" Like she was trying to intimidate me!! Her boss, Wendy comes over there and she starts "ganging up on me." Threatening me, telling me if I don't stop, she will have to call the police!!! All I was doing was explaining how disgusted I was with the fact that my mom had to come into the branch. In my career in Healthcare, it was a motto that the customer is always right. We were taught to "de escalate" an upset customer. These two were doing the exact opposite!!! They were doing everything in their power to threaten and antagonize me!! Mind you, all of this is happening while my parents are standing there. My mom would later tell me it didn't feel like all of this was really happening. Like it was all a bad dream, the way they were treating us in there. I had stepped outside and a policeman showed up. So, they actually called the police on me simply because I was voicing my displeasure about the poor customer service and the way they were treating us. I told the policeman that I believed I was the one he wanted to talk to. We discussed the situation and he actually told me that the police department gets more calls to this branch then all other business reports combined!! It sounds like this branch thrives on antagonizing and rudely treating their customers. While I was talking to the policeman, one of the customers inside the branch, listening to how all of this was going down, walked by, tapped me on the shoulder, and said, "you was totally in the right, THEY were the ones that was wrong." The two people I dealt with, Karlee and Wendy, the so called, "supervisor,"who created this "debacle, " never once apologized for the inconvenience, nor ever gave a reason to why they refused to cash the check at the window. This is a total embarrassment on Wells Fargo and it's a shame that one, to put it kindly, 'inadequate " branch ruins a 20 year relationship with me as a customer, which I no longer am nor will I ever be. My parents will be closing their accounts out as well. Because of two people(Karlee and Wendy) that are severely lacking in customer service skills among other issues, Wells Fargo lost three loyal customers today.

No customer service here …they are arrogant with an attitude however some of the tellers they are very sweet but the management is horrible can’t get any kind of assistance whatsoever. I’ve called about the same matter for weeks now to keep just getting put off and told that I’m being routed to the escalation team via email and that I should hear something from that department because supposedly they can’t help… B S….because they don’t wanna work. Do not recommend the Tanglewood branch Roanoke Virginia

This Wells Fargo location is right at Tanglewood, which makes it convienant but their staff may need better training. first time I went here wasn't so bad, I was just deposting a check, but the second time I stopped by here to talk about my account, I was introduced to a girl named Brandy. She looked like, and was obviously pregnant. Still even pregnant, that gives her no excuse to call me "dude" and look at me like I was a moron. She gave me no respect whatsoever. Its not like I was demanding the respect, but I was wearing a business suit, and I am 35 years old. I definitely look my age and I felt like she was thinking "this guy is stupid". For no reason at all! She just had this weird look in her eyes! She gave me a very uncomfortable feeling! This employee Brandy smiled when I was leaving, but did not even offer to shake my hand and say nice to meet me. Thats just common business practice. I left feeling uncomfortable and sort of unwelcome.I guess its just because the girl was pregnant. I hope so at least! If she was having a bad day, she needs to learn how to control that and not let her mood get into her workplace.
