This bank is the worst. The online platform doesn't work, customer service is bad, they can't ever help you.

Have been visiting this branch to open/close/modify accounts for a non-profit association and they have been very accommodating and ALWAYS helpful. They are always patient and willing to help to make things as easy as possible. Great people, great bank!

Moved to California, they did everything they could to prevent me to transfer my cash to my new bank... a combination of sheer incompetence and I suspect dishonesty... they were an OK bank under Suntrust when I open my account...it has been a long slide down since the merger

This used to be a pretty good bank (when they were First Virginia). However, with the recent merger, it seems no one quite knows what they are doing nor is anything quick. After 50 years with this bank and having gotten a senior checking account when I retired, when I lost my checkbook, Truist would not offer me the same type of account. First, the checks for the new account had an error on them (it took 10 days to get the checks), then they wanted to charge me for the replacement checks and the replacement checks started at 201 instead of 101. Transferring funds from the old account to the new account took some days; for a while, the same funds appeared as available in both accounts. Trying to talk to anyone at their 800 number took forever; I waited for over 45 minutes, yet Truist wants to charge people for putting their money into this bank. Why don't they use the fees to hire more people?
