While I don't have a personal banking relationship with Towne Bank, I am in here A LOT for work banking purposes. Always service with a smile and no issues. Overall a pleasant experience whenever I visit which is much appreciated. PS: i love the alcove teller stations. Also the "hidden" frog outside. So cute.

ONE STAR ADDED: I received my title and loan closer statement in a timely manner. NC CAR LOAN ANTIQUATED SYSTEMS IN PLACE. I received a car loan through a dealership in Winston Salem, and payments were set up through my bank. I called to make the payoff using the number provided on the statement. I thought it was odd that there was no automated system, but it seemed nice that I would speak to a person. I told the person who took my call that I wanted to pay my loan off, and their response sounded as if they were confused. They asked if I wanted to get the payoff amount quote. I asked if I could pay the car off over the phone and was told I could send a check (which would mean interest would accrue during the mailing process), or I could go to a branch. The closest branch to me is 30 miles away. I was told they do not have the systems in place to make phone payments. I don't mind a community style bank at all, but if I was in a bind and needed to make an immediate over the phone payment, I would be out of luck as I am today. Travel 60 miles to get a true payoff or wait on snail mail and pay over payoff, then wait for a small refund check. If there was another online option, it was not offered during my call. Finding the right branch to rate is difficult as their are two different addresses in VA. on my statement. I'm thankful for the loan, but I believe the dealership should be up front about the limited bank locations in NC, and there is no automated banking system in place, it's still a paper bank.

Towne Bank, and this branch is exceptional. I have been using them for my business since its inception. They aided me with my start up needs and continue to be a wonderful resource as part of my business team.
