- FLFreedom LibertyMar 22, 20221.00/5 The branch manager Melinda basically tried forcing my hand with my tax return to pay $76 for overdraft fees (2 at 36 a piece) for an account that was at 0.00 since January (last time I used it). My account was set up so it couldn't go in the negative. Apparently they allowed it to still go in the negative even though it's set up to deny purchases when it would put it in the negative. When I called recently when I noticed they said sometimes they can't stop the charge but never informed me that ahead of time. They actually I originally told me the opposite. Very sneaky and deliberate actions on their part to try and make you overdraft. She was under the impression that I had already sent my tax return to the account and told me verbatim "that this money is owed to the bank and they are going to take it no matter what, after that they'll send you a cashier's check for the rest of it, if I don't choose to keep the account". This is also the only bank in 15 years that I've had fraudulent charges on bc their lack of security measures. Very obvious fraudulent charges. So many better banks in town! Staff acts inconvenienced when you ask for certain bills.
