At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities. That happens through real care to make things better. To meet client needs, to empower teammates, and to lift up communities.
I am writing to provide feedback regarding my experiences at the Truist branch located in Culpeper, Virginia, specifically the one near Arby's. I have been a loyal customer of Truist and its predecessor institutions for many years, and I have generally held the bank's service standards in high regard. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been consistently marred by the unprofessional conduct of one specific team member, which compels me to bring this matter to your attention.
The individual in question is a Latina woman (I do not know her name, but she is a prominent presence at the teller line). On multiple occasions, I have witnessed and personally experienced her handling customers in a manner that is both rude and disrespectful. Most notably, her method of returning cash and documents is deeply demeaning; she does not place them in the customer's hand or even slide them across the counter respectfully. Instead, she throws them down onto the counter surface.
This action feels intentionally degrading and has made me, and others I have observed, feel unappreciated and disrespected. As a customer who entrusts your institution with my financial well-being, I expect interactions to be conducted with a basic level of courtesy and professionalism. Having seen her treat other customers in the same manner, it is clear this is not an isolated incident but a recurring behavioral pattern.
What is most concerning is that this behavior appears to be persistent, suggesting that it has not been adequately addressed. This leads me to believe she may be unaware of the negative impact of her actions, or worse, feels empowered to continue them. It has reached a point where I am seriously considering moving my accounts to a different financial institution, a decision I would regret after so many years with Truist.
My purpose in writing this is not to get anyone in undue trouble, but to request corrective action. I believe in the principles of Truist and am hopeful that with proper coaching and supervision, this team member can provide the quality of service that aligns with your bank's values and that your customers deserve.
I would appreciate it if management at this branch would look into this matter. A bank is more than just its services; it's about the trust and respect shared with its clients. I hope this feedback can help reinforce those crucial elements at the Culpeper location.
Thank you for your time and attention to this serious matter.

Worst customer service ever! I applied for a HELOC and after 2 months (no appraisal needed) they called me in to sign and the rate was 2.62% higher than I was led to believe in spite of a 780+ credit, a low loan to value, and tons of reserves. They were VERY slow and the communication was atrocious. I walked and won’t ever do business with them.
