- BNBrian NicholsonDec 5, 20231.0Came to their branch, was denied service and access to my own money. I am representative payee with a few folks and went to withdrawal spending money for them. We approached and told them we would like to make a few different transactions, some for my friend and some for me. They disappeared and told me it would be a minute. Then returned saying because of theft and fraud they cant help me and would I mind going to another branch. Well, I expected some respect at the bank ive been using for years. This is the second time while in Chatham I've been profiled and scrutinized. No other places have been so poor to me. Theres no reason for it, we keep a lot of money in their bank and to be treated this way is unbelievable. I've had 1 speeding ticket in my life, being treated like a lowly criminal is beyond jacked up. It was also mentioned that my friend not being able to sign his name is a red flag. Let me make something abundantly clear, the ability to sign your name isn't anything to do with access of your money. If this woman had any sense, she would've seen he had a representative payee and asked if it was me. But I never got that far. I was told to bank elsewhere. First Citizens needs to get their Chatham branches in order.
