- WRWynne RichardsonSep 10, 20251.0Absolute WORST bank out there. This local branch just takes it for being the RUDEST and LEAST helpful. So if you're looking to deal with men who will look at you like you're a waste of their time, and who also refuse to do even the BARE minimum for VERY long time account holders, then this is where you want to go. This was the MOST unwelcome I've felt since moving to this city just a few months ago. Actually, this is the ONLY time I've been made to feel this way. I will be going to another bank for all future banking needs, so I am not to be made to feel like an inconvenience.

I went to the Blacksburg location on UCB and took a wonderful couple who were new in town from out of the country. They had asked for a referral for a good established bank to start an account. I highly recommended this bank. I took them to this location and spoke to a guy who walked out of an office that actually looked past us and on to the next person trying not to look at us. Apparently his job was there setting up new accounts and I get that he appeared to be busy but Instead of saying, "Hi, I'm so sorry but as we would love to be able to help you, we are overbooked with appts for new accounts and here is a card so you can call and set up an appointment at a later date". He rudely said with a scowl on his face..."I have no appts, I can't help and we are booked so we can't take you. We are booked up until September 9th". I asked for a card so they could call and make an appt but he was obviously in a bad mood. I understand that we all have bad days and sometime we don't love how our job is going on a certain day but it was extremely rude and ugly. I drove them back with disappointment instead of excitement to be in a new town and not wanting to use this bank.
