- JDJose DApr 17, 20251.0I lost $3,650.00 due to a fraudulent cashier’s check scam, and my bank of six years took zero responsibility. An individual posing as a potential customer sent me a fake cashier’s check, and I deposited it without any warning or red flags from the bank. I refunded the full amount via Venmo — and only days later, the check bounced. I contacted the bank immediately and opened Case No: ending in 2169, but they refused to help, take ownership, or even apologize. What’s worse? The bank gave no fraud alert, no hold on the check, and no advice on how to protect myself. They left me completely exposed. This isn’t just bad service — it’s dangerous for other customers. If this happened to me, it can happen to anyone. Be careful and ask questions before depositing cashier’s checks. You may not be as protected as you think. I’m sharing this so others don’t go through what I did. Truist has lost my Trust!
