The world’s dumbest bank. Never had an issue breaking money to get change. Wells Fargo was the closest option so figured I’d go there. Lady told me “we can only give you change for a $20 and had to have an account with them to do more.”
Um hello…. This is a work run since we needed change for the register… no other bank has ever had that “rule”. So inconvenient and just don’t see why I have to have a bank account with you to make change for $100.

Wow, I've banked with Wells Fargo for decades, but no more. Came into this branch for a simple notary service. I'm asked to wait because the only notary has a customer at his desk and he says he'll only be about 5 minutes, no problem. 20 minutes later when that customer leaves, Spencer (the notary), makes a phone call to a customer about CD rates instead of helping the guy (me) waiting in the lobby... Not my first horrible experience with Wells Fargo in StG, but it's my last.

I am having a truly horrific experience with this bank. Run away from Wells Fargo and banker EMMA HOFFMAN unless you want to be treated like garbage and have your money held by Wells Fargo for absolutely NO reason. My wife and I went to this branch to open an account so we could have a nationwide bank. Our current bank is only in Tucson. On June 10, 2025 we opened an account with no issues. From the Wells Fargo website I set up a transfer to move funds (well below their stated limits) from my Tucson bank (manually verified) over to Wells Fargo via direct bank transfer. That money came out of my Tucson bank and showed up in our Wells Fargo account 6/26/25. My wife's paycheck was directly deposited into our Wells Fargo account 6/27/25. We had not used our debit cards or withdrawn any money. Later that day at 3:21pm (see photos) we got an e-mail saying they were closing all of our accounts in 2 weeks (or sooner!) because of inconsistent internal and public records. All the information we gave them to open the account was accurate. The worst offense either of us have ever commited is a speeding ticket over 20 years ago. Both have 750+ credit scores. Never had any issues whatsoever. We had NO idea what this was about, figured someone entered data wrong or they needed to see some extra ID verifying documents. The fraud phone # said that it was not "beneficial for Wells Fargo to have an account with us". He would NOT tell us why and said to go in person. So Saturday at 9:10am we had the extreme misfortune of dealing with banker EMMA HOFFMAN. This person is a stone cold monster. NO empathy or any attempts whatsoever at a resolution. She appears to have no soul, I am really disturbed by her. She would NOT explain WHY they were HOLDING OUR DEPOSITS.. OUR MONEY!! An hour in she put me on the phone with the fraud department (which I already talked to) and they asked me several questions that did not pertain to me. She continuted to repeat that she would not help me. It seems Wells Fargo has me confused with someone else. She would NOT look at any of my ID verifying documents (I had my SS card, birth certificate, DL, lease, utility bills, etc.) or think of an actual way to verify my identity in person. She would not give me any phone numbers to try (like corporate or escalation team) just the same fraud # that just refused to speak to me several times. I pleaded with her to tell me why my account was being closed and money withheld. If someone has stolen my identity, why wouldn't they tell me what they were seeing so that I could try to fix it? Emma the monster just kept giving me a blank look saying that she could not help me. We did nothing wrong and did not deserve that treatment. We will try 1 more time to talk to a different person at the branch tomorrow and if they still insist on holding our money AND providing NO explanation (aside from that it doesn't benefit Wells Fargo to bank with us!) we will have to hire an attorney and file with the CFPB and police because I cannot let them steal our hard earned money. There's an error somewhere and I can't fix it unless I know what it is. It might be an error on THEIR end. I posted my story on a St. George facebook group and MANY people commented and messaged me that they also had their money disappear at Wells Fargo.

I still have to say they have the slowest drive up and they've done nothing about it. 20 minutes to deposit a check that's just wrong.
