Pleasant Grove Zions Bank is rude and disrespectful to their customers. When I got there, I observed that they had a number of employees, and I was greeted quickly. When I initiated my transaction i provided multiple forms of identification and waited while they called to verify funds on the check. Not unusual. While Mary the teller was handling my transaction, I stood and had a quiet opportunity to watch How they do business. She was actually fairly polite but did not like me asking questions about the transaction I was conducting. I observed 2 other tellers at the drive-through making negative comments to, and about an aparently disabled elderly gentleman. He was trying to perform a transaction that involved coinage, making a deposit and was requesting a couple of rolls of dimes. He seemed to be somewhat hearing impaired and was having a hard time with communicating with them, and by handling things to do with the transaction. I then overheard the employees joking about him and making a snarky Comment about whether they "should give him good customer service and help him on his transaction or go with company policy and send him away" My teller also made a negative comment about the customer. We'll just say that their optics and verbiage to me as a bystander were not good. When I mentioned my observations, and concerns, the staff decided to run a second full security check on my transaction, and requested the manager do it. I was met with hostility and a very argumentative and rude Manager. Then the male teller who had been working with the elderly man involved himself and became argumentative with me. he had literally told the gentleman "was lucky They gave him good customer service today, because they were very busy and still worked with him." - (Again, I don't think complaining about an active customer who seemed to be performing A simple transaction is a good way to do business or conduct yourself as a professional.) -(Getting nasty with me, as another customer certainly wasn't appreciated) - (I would be delighted if they had video and audio, Because I was clearly very quiet and calm and gentle in my tone of voice.) I merely mentioned that the optics of joking about giving good customer service to an apparently disabled, elderly person in the drive through did not look very good, especially to someone who is considering opening an account. Note of interest: I came home to a family get-together and mentioned my experience as I was typing this review. Two people at our get-together mentioned that they had recently closed accounts at the Provo Zion's bank because they felt as though they were "being treated rudely and like criminals" when they were conducting business there. I might also mention that I worked in the financial sector for many years. An area of emphasis that Zions and its employees would probably benefit from would be to conduct classes regularly on "senior sensitivity." So they may know how to politely work with people that are elderly and/or partially disabled. Elderly folks have diminshed eyesight, tactile function, mobility, hearing etc. I was very unimpressed with the Pleasant Grove Zions bank. The manager, and the male curly-haired teller. Mary, the teller was initially polite, was of average customer service and professional capability, until she lost me when criticizing other customers and apparently penalizing me when i asked her a question. My Assessment: be more professional and kind to all your customers, and especially those who need it. (especially when they're a business customer and you're not busy at all. And don't treat customers who ask questions or offer polite observations with hostility. I was not hostile or impolite and did not deserve your nastiness. Have no worries Zions, I will not return. Driving a little bit further to my other financial partners is well worth it!

I have been banking from the PG Branch for 30 years now. Over the years I have dealt with a very professional but personal staff. They treat you like family and have helped me out above and beyond the normal service. Even the bank manager knows me by name and is always out helping customers.
