Nice people, but my experience opening a business account here was extremely disappointing. As a licensed professional I know better, so I waited several days after the emotional trauma cleared before posting this review so it could be clear, concise, correct and without error or exaggeration. When opening the business account on 06/26/2022 by appointment; what should have taken 30 minutes took 2 hours because my appointment was consistently interrupted for anyone else who walked in the door who had a question. Apparently the other 3 employees working at the branch did not know the answers so they needed to interrupt my scheduled appointment several times and steal my time to handle a random walk in. Going over time in this appointment cost my business money in loss of production and opportunity cost. As a business, we pay heavily for marketing and leads and I need to be in my office on the phone ready to work to realize potential profitability or we lose money. After opening the account I was able to overcome being treated as second class and as if I did not matter. I have a business to run so no time to play victim so no worries, besides; this is routine for people who look like me in America so no surprise here. During the appointment the person opening the account asked me on three occasions, "how many international wire transfers will you be performing each month?" I advised her that I would be making one international wire transfer each month for payroll and expense purposes for our offshore call center (BPO) business process outsource. This was documented in our initial paperwork which I signed of course. Fast forward to 07/21/2022 the day we as a business needed to make our first of many expense payments to our (BPO) abroad where I travel to several times a year train people how to perform duties. Our account was blocked. I thought that was odd, so I called CS Legend Bank CS advised me to email the branch manager or the person who originally opened the account with the specific wire instructions. So I though to myself, "no worries, it's just probably some security feature or protocol." They pretended to think it wasn't me. After no response in a 48hr period and multiple phone calls to the person I emailed and calls to CS to see what is going on I began to call in back to back because payroll expense needs to be on time. Every time I called the person was in a meeting or out to lunch. In fact the second day I was told she was out to lunch at 11am and again at 2pm and it was at this point I knew something was up. After demanding to speak to the branch manager who turns out to be the person who opened our account, she said that our business activity was suspicious and was flagged. I thought that was very strange given the fact in which I also reminded her that SHE ASKED ME and documented that we would be making this specific transaction each month and why. But when actually carrying out this normal business function I was challenged with statements and comments that were untoward our business and those who support our business, she could not fathom why an insurance agency would need or use an off shore call center. Moreover, this demonstrates that the highest person accountable in this branch does not even understand the most basic needs of their clients nor does she understand the business clients needs even after a documented conversation about these regular and normal business functions. And then it all hit me like a ton of bricks, only because as a successful international business man with a MS In Project Management (managing global teams) it never occurred to me that this level of [xenophobia] and [racism] would actually happen, because I view the world through a lens that does not view myself or those I work with as a victim of such even when it happens and of course it did and it is very verifiable that id did. I'm personally and politically very conservative and I use these statements and terms with reservation because I know better and I'm well versed. I'm not confused that this is what took place.
