- ASAbundant SunshineOct 31, 20251.0I do not have an account there but my employer banks at Prosperity in The Colony. I usually deposit my paychecks at my amazing online bank (Ally). But I wanted to cash my little $100 check so I went inside to cash it. This is the 4th time I’ve gone inside to cash a check. Every single time there has been an issue of some sort but today was over the top and a first. They would not cash my paycheck until they called my employer to verify it was ok. I really don’t think they would have called if I didn’t insist. They asked me if I knew who wrote the check…do I know who wrote the check? What difference does that make? The manager was very dismissive and could not have cared less if I was able to get my money or not. If they don’t want people to cash on us checks at their bank then they shouldn’t have checking accounts! And if they think that treating non customers the way they do will encourage them to open a checking account with their bank they are terribly mistaken. I will absolutely not walk into that bank again.
