- CBChris BuchananDec 9, 20251.0Hard to imagine a worse bank. The website barely works, the app never works. The account alerts are useless as they come AFTER late fees. Terrible on every level. In response to the response to my initial review: the SSFCU app has a 2.6 rating - review after review expressing the frustration with the failure of the app. Their website crashes CONSTANTLY and is unresponsive far too often. On the “alerts” they offer if your account is low or overdrawn: the last time I got a negative balance I caught it in time and was able to transfer the money that night before the overdraft charge hit and when did SSFCU send me an alert? The next day 12 hrs AFTER the account went into the negative. SSFCU has NEVER sent me a timely alert that would help me avoid an overdraft. And finally the last time I tried to close an account down I did EVERYTHING by the book to close the account and despite that when some auto draft hit the CLOSED account SSFCU opened the account without telling me and added overdraft after overdraft to the account they reopened without my approval or notice. It took weeks to get them to actually close the account and I paid hundreds for their incompetence. So don’t be fooled by the empty response to this review: SSFCU is absolutely terrible. Stay away.
