We already know how unethical they are, some things never change. I would like to add, this has nothing to do with the specific location, or staff. Just Wells Fargo being Wells Fargo.

The tellers are uninformed and in-experienced. Reviewers want to speak to how nice they are, but that does not cut it when the service needed done is not done. I have cashed many savings bonds at this branch, and each teller has a different take on how to proceed. One teller looked up the social security number printed on front of a bond and discovered it was not my number, BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE. That is why the person cashing the bond must put their social on the back where the bond says to if it is A different social number than the front. This particular teller was able to determine that the social number was not mine, by reviewing the computer about my parents (who are also listed on some of the bonds). The only reason she had this information is because my parents are/were clients of Wells Fargo. Researching security numbers is never the procedure for cashing these bonds. That is why the bond has a line on the back for a social number if it is different than the front. OTHER BANKS THAT MY PARENTS WERE NEVER A CLIENT WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO THIS, and they simply cash my bonds properly. This fact alone proves that the Portland Wells Fargo is WRONG. I called to complain, and the representative there told me they are doing due diligence. She obviously is in-experienced in these bonds. I have many bonds and have been cashing them at many banks for years. I have a variety of bonds. Some have my social, some my dad's, some my mom's. Some are co-owned, meaning the "signer" and the "owner" are listed on front of the bond. This means both are qualified to cash this bond, yet the bond can only have one social security number on the front. What is an un-educated teller to do with one of these??? No problem, I have three bank accounts (Wells, Chase & a credit union), so I don't need to deal with these clueless tellers. I can see the way this bank handles these bonds that they do not cash many, yet that is not an excuse. They need to be educated.
