I went in to open a business checking account and was misinformed by the banker about the difference between an EIN and a Texas Taxpayer Number. When I clarified using the official Texas Comptroller website, I was dismissed and even lectured by another banker about how they’ve “been opening accounts for years.” If that were true, why misguide me in the first place? To make matters worse, my account wasn’t completed and I was told to come back another day because of other appointments. Wasted my time, gas, and energy for nothing. Extremely unprofessional, rude, and disappointing service.
