- KDKat DJul 23, 20251.0This low rating is in no reflection to Independent Bank..it’s for South State bank that bought IB. They froze my parents account when my dad passed away and then started sending back checks and returned deposits for no reason at all. We have been customers for over 20 years with Independent Bank and this new bank is a nightmare. Update.. Thanks to Susan York and Rhonda Chapman located at the Craig Drive branch this issue has finally been resolved! Much appreciated 😊
