When I opened my account, I was told that I would not be charged a monthly service fee as long as I had my social security check directly deposited into my account and it was more than $500. The lady said nothing about it having to be during every bill period. Well today i got charged $10 for a service fee. I tried calling customer service but all they did was argue with me. I tried calling the McAllen branch to speak with a banker but nobody ever answers the phone. I want a refund, and you should have people answer the phone. Tomorrow I will be going in to dispute the charge. Don't do your banking here. Very dishonest and unprofessional. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Update: I did go into Wells Fargo and explained the situation. Was told it was a bank error and I received a refund. I hope I don't have to do this every month. Update: Wells Fargo basically said there is nothing they can do to help me not get charged service fees so I will be closing my account after the end of this month. Won't be doing business with Wells Fargo ever again.
