If I could give zero stars, I would. There were two ladies at the front desk—an older woman with glasses and a younger, heavier set, Hispanic woman—both extremely rude and noticeably lazy. I came in to cash two payroll checks issued by Wells Fargo. The older woman didn’t even bother to properly run the checks. She glanced at the amounts and immediately claimed she “had to call them in” for verification. After a very short phone call, she came back and told me she couldn’t verify either check and that they “weren’t in the system.” These were brand-new checks I’d received literally the day before—never cashed, never touched. For context, the check verification system is automated, and if the system doesn’t verify instantly, you can choose to speak to a representative. Based on how long she was on the phone, it was clear she didn’t take that extra step. I know this because I immediately called the payroll provider myself and it took over 28 minutes just to reach a human being. She wasn’t even on the phone a fraction of that, yet she—and the younger woman, who wasn’t even near her during the call—insisted they’d spoken to an actual representative and claimed there was “nothing else they could do.” They flat-out refused to try again. I went home and contacted my payroll team. They confirmed repeatedly that both checks were valid, uncashed, and should’ve been simple to verify at any financial institution. They encouraged me to try another branch. So I did. In fact, I tried two—because the first didn’t have enough cash on hand—and neither branch had to “call anything in.” They simply scanned the checks and cashed them within minutes. Zero issues. Zero drama. Exactly the opposite experience. I really hate to even imply discrimination, but it is extremely telling that a Black woman walks in with two high-dollar checks and suddenly verification is “impossible,” yet the first two random branches I visit afterward cash both checks in under five minutes without hesitation. Do better.

I've never been so upset and disappointed at Wells Fargo until I visited the 2714 Smith St. Houston TX 77006 branch. I've been a customer for almost 20 years even before it was WF. I was out of town in Houston and use the atm. The atm approved my withdrawal and said take your card. I tried to get my card but then it gave another message that said it couldn't release my card so I didn't get my card back or my money. I went inside. Everyone there were RUDE and were not helpful. The first teller said she doesn't know why It took it and that my withdrawal amount was reverse and I ended up just getting money from her bec I couldn't be out of state without any money but I still needed answers. She said they do not service the machines. She wouldn't tell me who service them and when so I could see if I could get my card back. I asked to speak to the branch manager (or whomever was in the office). She said no bec he had a customer but no one was in his office and the only other people in branch (besides me and my friend) got up and left. So another teller came over and said it was nothing they can do for me but if I'm confident that the atm machine took my card, they can order me another one. I was done at that point. Why would I lie about an atm machine taking my card. What would make him think I didn't KNOW 100% sure the machine took my card. I asked about closing my account and what would happen with the money bec I didn't want to walk around with cash. He told he doesn't know what would happen to the money and he doesn't know what my account look like. But I just gave my ID for them to see my account and give me a withdrawal. I just left. I will close my account when I get back home. After dealing with those 2, I wouldn't dare stay with a company who can't train their staff properly!

Came to the bank today to get a Cashiers check to pay my taxes and asked that it be made out to the “INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE” the teller Arthur Reza was so detailed oriented that he advised me that it was the wrong name and that it should be made out to the “US DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY” and sure enough after I checked he was right! He saved me from a huge headache on my taxes lol Arthur keep up the great work it doesn’t go unnoticed 🤟🏽😊 P.S We as customers should start praising good customer service.
