I went into the bank to apply for a loan for my wedding, I was not approved and that’s understandable then what was offered was a secured credit option. I agreed to open it and was notified it would be a deposit of $400 I said okay and he mentioned I had 30 days to make the deposit I agreed and said okay cause I only have $426 in my account rn. I never agreed to any amount of deposit the day of. After 2 days my bank account was overdrawn and the secured card was active. This was very embarrassing because I was notified when I got denied getting a cup of coffee. I did not approve it and now I’m having to wait over 30 days to receive money that I need for food, gas and bills. I called back and the representative even said he assumed that’s what I meant. Very unprofessional to assume what to do with someone’s money.

BB&T (now Truist) just doesnt have the convenience or service muscle to compete with big banks. Just...leave the race. I opened a new checking acct after receiving a $200 promo offer. After about 8 months my acct was hit with multiple fraud charges from Thailand totaling a little under $100. The fraud dept sent me an email to alert me of the charges. The problem is...it takes 45 mins to an hour of hold time to reach a rep in the fraud dept. It took multiple attempts and extremely long hold times just to resolve the matter. Not good. This experience was enough to sever the relationship and close the acct. I never experience a long hold with Chase and if BBT offered the ability to lock your debit card or disable any international charges like other big banks do this could have been prevented. Your money is vulnerable and unsecure with BBT (Truist).

Discriminatory bank against hard working African American men because of looks. My significant other came to this bank to cash a check given to him by his employer who clearly has business account with the establishment being that they have their name printed as big as day on the check. The payroll clerk of his job Accredo Packaging, a well known packinging company based here in Houston TX, was able to verify all requirements of the check over the phone however they still denied it as if he was trying to scam them. They then proceeded to ask about the sizing of the check which he has no control over. He came in with his government issued ID along with his employee ID for further assurance. What makes it worst is he’s cashed a check by this bank at a different location before with no issue. Also we went across the street to PLS Checking and he was able to get the check cashed with no delay. This type of so called customer service is disgusting and you need you provide better training your employees in assisting people of all backgrounds.

I opened my first commercial account three years ago and I have been very happy, the staff is great and helpful, now I have two small businesses accounts with BB and T and I’m like que family there. I will recommend them with confidence.
