Truist has proven to be the most incompetent bank I've ever encountered. From customer service's phone support down to the local branch leader have all been of no assistance. I opened an account online about two weeks ago. I setup up my account they transferred the funds to open the account from my external account. A few days pass I login to see if my direct deposit posted. I received the attached message. I called the number the rep says you need to go into your local branch and show you ID to prove it was you that opened the account online. I go into the branch they tell me they can't do anything with my account and its closed. The next day I get an email about my statement " for the account the said I don't have" so I called the fraud department again I was unable to reach anyone. I checked my mail I have 2 letters That say they were unable to open my account. But get this they sent me a debt card as well. All for the account that I don't have. I went to the bank yesterday the "BRANCH LEADER" tells me my account is open but I have to talk to the fraud department its nothing they can do in the branch. The Banker later tries to assist me after she sees my frustration. She tells me the reason I can't contact the fraud department was that the phone system was down. So the branch leader didn't know that smh. She tells me I have to call the fraud department hopefully the phones will be up tomorrow ( which is today). So I missed the call from truist this morning I call them back the rep verified my identity when I started asking questions about the status of the account if its open or closed and would world I get my funds back. She says its a different fraud division that handles that and she would need to see which division to transfer me to. But I needed to go into the branch because due to service agreements she can't discuss that with me over the phone. I said ma'am I've been through that route I'm not going back to the bank they told me to can you all. She said idk why they told you to call us that's incorrect they were supposed to assist you in the bank after you verified your Identity. I said at this point I'm not confident any of you can provide me with the correct information or even have the knowledge of what the correct information is. But you have a nice day.
This has been a horrible experience I hope none of you experience what I have this was ridiculous to say the least if this is how they treat new customers I'd hate to see how they treat the loyal ones. Furthermore why send me emails and a debit card for account you say is closed 🤦🏾‍♀️

It is nothing like having a bank that works for you. Our business account got hacked, and Truist was on top of it to keep us going without any business interruptions. The team members here learn your first name and greet you when you arrive with a simple. They are not like some of the other banks. You do not have to have an appointment to meet a banker, all you have to do is walk in, and the doors always open. Thank you so much Ginger, Tremell, Joan and Emma!

My firs time opening a bank account ever and everyone greeted me and felt welcome. Kyle helped me open my very first bank account smoothly, Liz Arroyo always there to help, James as attentive, and Miaox Miaox always made sure that i was satisfied with everything. Very thoughtful staff, old and new in this branch.
