- BPBrenda P5 days ago2.0Inheritance was in POD CDs in various banks. Midfirst’s process to get the money after the family member’s death was way more convoluted and involved than all the other banks we dealt with. To the point we already had the funds from other banks while still waiting for the necessary paperwork. Asciel finally got involved and got the ball rolling, but still hasn’t responded to the question (months later) of why the interest stopped accumulating when notified of death vs once they got around to dispersing. Conversations even mentioned about where the interest would go. Other banks did not penalize due to death. They pocketed at least a month of interest with no explanation as to why. If they were the only bank we dealt with we wouldn’t have known the difference, but dealing with multiple banks at the same time it was very obvious they placed more hurdles in removing the money from their bank.
