- JCJuan CuevasJul 24, 20255.0Normally, I find door to door salesman abhorrent. However, when Jacoby Clarke knocked on my door and told me that he was with Edward Jones and was stopping by to say hello I was taken back. This young man, a college graduate and Big 12 Champion who played at Baylor and is now a financial planner at a prestigious firm was standing there sweating in the heat, I had to respect his drive and hustle. I invited him in and we briefly spoke about whole life insurance policies and he is very knowledgeable. Although I did not move forward with him today, but I will be doing so in the pretty immediate future once my wife and I discuss it. I thought "If he is willing to work that hard to get clients, how hard would he work to keep them?". In this day and age of fast money and Instagram clout chasing for an easy buck, here is this young man just grinding. Old school. Knocking on doors and saying hello. As a 35 year veteran salesman myself, I really respect the hard work and drive this young man exhibited. I was even more impressed by him once we chatted in my office. I highly recommend him. I think he is going to do very well. A champion is a champion. Good for him!
