- CCCaseySep 25, 20251.0I went to this location to withdraw $60 in cash and close my account. The ATM was down, so I went inside. Instead of simply withdrawing the $60 and closing my account, the employee closed my account, issued a cashier’s check, and never gave me the cash. When I asked, he spent over 20 minutes on his computer before telling me the ONLY way to get the $60 in cash was to cash the entire check and pay a $16 “non-member fee.” In other words, I was expected to pay for THEIR mistake. I tried cashing the check at Walmart for $8, but their system flagged it. When I called another DATCU branch, I was told the check was valid but my only option was to pay the $16 fee since it wouldn’t clear elsewhere. What should have been a simple 5-minute process turned into a 2-hour ordeal with no resolution. After driving 40 minutes to Denton just for this, my entire trip was wasted and I had to reschedule with the person I was meeting in Plano. Careless, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time.
