- MRMike RDec 31, 20251.0I tried opening a checking account online and for some unexplained reason I keep getting a message on screen asking me to call them to "verify" identity. I don't have credit freezes, I didn't input wrong info and my driver's license is not even expired. I have 2 other bank accounts in good standing and I wanted to switch to Wells Fargo as there's a bank nearby. I call and they want me to "schedule" a visit to this bank to confirm identity? What's going on?

They use some of the worst banking practices to cheat customers and add to the wealth of their CEO who is one of the top paid CEOs in the US! They will never admit to any mistake and will continue to line their pockets with YOUR cash by holding deposits and arranging the timing of how drafts hit your account in their favor. See CA lawsuit for these practices! Leaving this bank as soon as I can!!
