At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities. That happens through real care to make things better. To meet client needs, to empower teammates, and to lift up communities.
I am writing regarding an experience I had today at the Church Street branch. I have been a loyal SunTrust/Truist customer for over 20 years, and unfortunately, I left the branch feeling disappointed with the level of service I received.
When I entered the branch, I was the only customer waiting in line. The teller was currently assisting a gentleman at her window. Shortly after, another customer entered. The gentleman at the teller window then turned, greeted the customer who had just arrived with, “Hello, welcome in,” and it was at that point I realized he was an employee, as he was wearing a name badge.
I was surprised that the newly arrived customer — who was Caucasian — was acknowledged and welcomed, while I, who had already been standing there waiting, was not acknowledged at all. I expressed this in the moment by stating, “Wow, you work here. I am also a customer.”
Everyone deserves to be treated with the same level of respect and courtesy, especially in a professional environment. While we all have our own perspectives, personal bias should never influence customer service interactions.
I am sharing this experience because I value Truist and the relationship I’ve maintained with your bank for many years. I hope leadership will address this to ensure all customers are welcomed and treated equally.
Thank you for your time and attention. I would appreciate a follow-up regarding this matter.

Great customer service in this Murfreesboro branch! Allend was walking out for his lunch break, but came back in to assist so I didn't have to wait for a quick notary service. I'm grateful for his kindness and professionalism.

After my visit in this facility I decided to close all our family accounts. The personal very rude and not supportive. No stars for this place.

I have not gone to this banks atm one time where it’s actually up and functional. Can’t accept deposits, can’t do withdrawals, etc. and being that Truist has made it so I hard to find a bank near me. I drive all the way here and can’t do what I came to do. This alone will make me change banks. Do better

I would never recommend opening an account here. They'll tell you their overdraft policy is one thing and then hit you with a fee anyways before they're even supposed to. My account was positive early this morning, became overdrawn at some point in the day, and instead of giving me until midnight to correct it, which is what their policy states and what I've had THREE employees tell me before, I got hit with a fee insanely.
I've been a customer here for 10 years and it's been problem after problem ever since they merged and became Truist. They've screwed me over with premature overdraft fees on the same day multiple times, sent the funds for my personal loan to someone else's account and I had to call them and wait several hours for them to correct it, whenever I deposit cash in person I get questioned about where it came from when it isn't even at the limit to trigger a CTR or SAR (I used to work for a different bank, so yes, I know what those are and what amounts you have to deposit/withdraw to trigger it), and any time I go through the drive through for anything I get harassed about signing up for their credit card even though I keep saying no. Not to mention that their website and mobile banking are constantly glitching and going down.
My personal loan was the only thing keeping me from closing my account because it was easier to pay it directly from my checking account, but it's about to be paid off so I will be closing all of my accounts soon and I can't wait.
