- VLVickie Lawson5 days ago1.0I had an account for years when it was Suntrust. I closed it due to poor customer service and opened accounts at credit unions. A while ago, I went thru the drive thru to cash a check someone had written me from their Truist account. After waiting 20 minutes I was informed the drive thru was for customers only and I had to go inside. FYI, this branch no longer have a drive thru option. I frequently receive checks from others written out of a Truist account. Even though the check was written out of a customer's account, they charge 5.00 to cash it if the recipient is not a Truist member. Today I went to the branch and asked if I could exchange several hundred dollars in 20.00 bills to hundred dollar bills. I was told no, because I am not a customer. It appears the poor customer service to the public continues. If I was a potential customer who was thinking about moving my accounts to Truist, these actions certainly solidified my decision to leave
