My husband and I reside in Murfreesboro, TN. We took our children out shopping on July 4th in Nashville. To our shock both of our cards, which are tied to his First bank account, were declined despite having plenty of money in his account. We were unable to reach anyone due to it being a holiday. When I finally spoke with a customer service rep the following Saturday they were only able to tell me that his card had been reported stolen, canceled, and a replacement was being sent somewhere. As for my card it had been suspended. They were confused and unable to provide an explanation as to why bc there were no fraud indicators. They could only see that Donnie Henry of this Knoxville branch accessed his account without permission and made the unauthorized changes. The best they could do was reactivate my card and advised my husband to go into a local branch on Monday to get a replacement. They gave me the number to the Knoxville branch and advised me to call on Monday for a explanation. I called the branch on Monday and was told Donnie was in a meeting and would return my call. The rep also reviewed my husband's account and she saw no reason for Donnie to have accessed it or made any changes. I never received a callback on Monday. I called again on Tuesday and requested another callback. Donnie finally called back a few hours later. She acted as if she had no clue as to why I was trying to reach her. Upon explaining the situation she continued acting completely clueless. Each time I asked for additional details on how the ordeal happened she would just respond by saying "your cards should be fine now". She said, "IF she had done it then it was probably a mistake". Several customer care reps I previously spoke with reviewed the account and all confirmed she made the changes. I was completely disgusted by her demeanor and lack of proper accountability, empathy, explanation, and professionalism. I requested the name and number of someone above her but she refused to give it to me. I then asked for the number to corporate. She provided a number that turned out to be a general customer service number. I called back to get the correct number. I spoke with her colleague Holly who was just as useless and unhelpful as Donnie. I would definitely be cautious in dealing with this particular branch and the callous individuals that are employed there.
