- MJMarie Jeannette Jean-JacquesDec 7, 20251.0Very very bad lender! I had a very bad and completely unacceptable experience with United Community Bank as a first-time homebuyer. Two staff members actually yelled at me over the phone simply because I questioned the constant, unexpected changes in my numbers, which kept increasing without clear explanation. On the day of closing, they left me sitting at the table for the entire day with no answers because the numbers changed again and no one could explain why. The regional sales manager for this area was extremely disrespectful and showed a level of incompetence I never expected from a bank handling something as important as a mortgage. As a result, I am now paying for a mortgage I was not prepared for, with an APR much higher than the rate I was originally locked into. I would never wish this experience on anyone—especially someone going through their first mortgage.

UCB nickels + dimes EVERYTHING in our accounts..., down to charging for paper statements now! We were shareholders of Reliant/part of their beginnings and still have multiple business and personal accounts with UCB as a result of this years merger. Looking more and more like we'll have to find another banking option unless UCB gets their act together REAL QUICK
