An advertisement for a personal loan from Easy Financial peaked my interest, as they were offering a way to rebuild my credit. How awesome. As a new small business owner I could benefit from a loan and rebuild my credit at the same time. The customer service representative that contacted me, Marie, was very nice. She worked hard to make sure I was getting my information submitted so my approval would go through quickly. However, I had discussed with her what the wants of my loan were and why I was requesting a certain amount. One of them being to pay off a small loan that had a higher than average interest rate. When my loan came back "approved" it was for significantly less than I had applied for, and the interest rate was 49.86%. I was in shock. How could they expect people to rebuild their credit by offering seemingly criminal interest rates on miniscule loans. It would take 18 months to pay back a loan smaller than the loan I already had that will be paid off in 12, and it would end up costing more. I honestly cannot think of any reason someone would benefit from one of these loans. I gave it a 1 star rating because I did think Marie was nice and worked relatively fast. I hope my rating saves other people in a similar situation from the hassle of the paperwork, as there is quite a bit to submit just to get approved.
