Unfortunately, First Citizens Bank has been a constant headache—even after more than a year of banking with them. They repeatedly place extended holds on cashier’s checks and have delayed Zelle transfers for around three days. What pushed me over the edge is the fee situation: they charge fees just to deposit cash (something I haven’t experienced with other banks), and there are multiple charges that feel hidden or not clearly explained until they show up on the account. The combination of holds, delays, and fees makes it difficult to run a business smoothly. One bright spot was a manager named Jerome, who was genuinely helpful and would verify cashier’s checks so funds could be available sooner. After he was no longer there, the problems continued and got worse. That alone tells me this bank isn’t built to support business customers who need speed, transparency, and consistency. Business owners: take my advice and choose a bank that helps you operate—not one that slows you down.
