I went to the drive thru at the North Myrtle Beach location to make a large deposit on Jan 2, and presented my debit/credit card, deposit slip and money. I did not fill out the acct number because I’d been traveling and did not have it on me. I was told I could not make a deposit unless I knew my acct number, as the teller said he is not allowed to look up acct numbers. He had my card and any ID I could offer him, yet customer service was low on his priority! This is the 3rd time I have received awful customer service. I will be returning to my former bank asap. Customer service is more important to me than convenience. If a bank is using a rather large amount of my money, then you should be looking out for my best interests. I will NOT be recommending South State Bank to my clients, with whom I offer 100% customer satisfaction and consider a top priority! Learn to treat your clients like you care and will go the extra mile for their business! South State obviously doesn’t need my business anymore. Lesson learned.
