My dad recommended I go to edward jones to start investing. We recently moved to the area a few years ago, so I was excited to meet with Hal, who was not my dads agent, and open my first account. I wanted to start out slow by buying a CD and then talk to Hal about investing in mutual funds and opening a roth IRA. I quickly realized Hal had no interest in helping me. My dad and I were both baffled by his lack of disinterest and how he was trying to encourage me to go elsewhere to invest, especially considering my dads lifelong business relationship with Edward Jones.
