  Cristal was very helpful and kind with all of the multiple things we needed done. She gave us her email for anything that may come up and gave us the best option for us to maintain and handle our money the best. We could not recommend her more!

  Pam Buff has the best customer service I’ve ever had from a Banker! She is a gem and has helped me endlessly with long distance issues I’ve been having. If I ever move to SC I will definitely seek out Pam and the South State Bank location she works at. I truly hope her supervisors and managers know what a wonderful employee they have with her. She honestly deserves accolades for the customer service she provides!

  I've been with First Federal and now, South State Bank, for about 12 years. I own a local business at a major tourist destination (for 18+ years), and always enjoyed a great relationship with the employees of this bank. Until lately. I thought I was among friends and considered these employees as trusted people who cared for me, my family and my business. Recently I have been asked, point blank while making a deposit, if I had authorization from my company to make a cash deposit. Was I taken back! The two different people that asked me that work at two different branches that I use. I opened the account so I showed them my South State Visa card for ID. This week, the second time, the branch manager, nor anyone else, could tell me the reason they were asking me this question. I could only think this question would be associated with drug money laundering. I really thought they knew me, my business and my family. Now, I see them as banksters - cold, calculating and indifferent to having any kind of a personal relationship. Why could they not tell me why they asked, who told them to ask and who else are they asking (everyone, certain ones?). This was embarrassing and this friendship I believed we had was ripped apart. So much for a personal banker and personal relationships at this bank. I will take my business elsewhere, to a great bank that doesn't ask these kinds of questions to people they know, from a business they know and from a family they know. In closing, I nor my business have ever bounced a check with this bank, been in arrears or behind or late with any transaction or in any argument or disagreement with any employee now or ever (discounting this current, rude, confrontation question they have instigated).
