Rhode Island Credit Union has experienced many changes throughout our history. The Board and Management have continued to respond to industry changes in an effort to keep up with an ever changing financial and technological market. Our unique business model where credit union members are the owners of the institution proves to be as effective today as it was in 1946 when Rhode Island Credit Union was founded. The idea of serving only the needs of credit union members, not distant shareholders is what guides our decision-making process.
It is inevitable that changes will be made from time to time to keep the Credit Union viable and competitive. Like every other business, we adapt to the business realities of our time. Even as changes happen, we will continue to work hard to maintain our commitment to personal service and our dedication to strengthening the outstanding relationships with our existing and future members in the communities we serve.

When I drive up the staff greets my sister and I with a warm welcome. I notice the thoroughness when I make my deposit . When I used to go inside.... whenever I asked about something..like other services. I found these professional s informative and never too busy..
- DCdomenic carchiaMay 7, 20191.0This place is filled with the slowest and laziest people I've ever met. Got an auto loan through them and needed additional documents for loan verification. Everything had to be done through the phone because Barbara the loan officer didn't use email for scanned documents the teller told me. After 2 weeks, I got my lease buyout approved and asked where the title was. Barbara told me the bank doesn't receive the title and I should have it. Called Providence and sure enough they had the title and weren't sure why Barbara told me that and immediately sent it to Pascoag. Finally went to pick up the title after they called me it was in. Sat here for 30 minutes bc Carmen the teller said nobody had told them I could pick up the title and she didn't want to open the safe to see if it was there despite the message I received saying it was in the safe... After the 30 minutes, Carmen calls Barbara (from 15 feet away) and confirms the title is in the safe (where else would it be?) and I finally have my car registered with the state almost a month later. 4 tellers sitting there on their phones with zero initiative to just check the safe which takes under a minute. My first and last experience with RICU in Pascoag. The Providence branch is so much faster and more professional. Avoid this place at all costs!
