So this isn't about this particular Branch just truist as a whole. This isn't about credit cards it's about how Truist are funking scam artists. Recently, Ive been going through a really rough time financially. I have a good job, it pays a little less than what I think I should make considering the work I do but it is what it is. Last week, I had to overdraft my account because I got hit by a car and had to go to the hospital and it ended up being very expensive. My copay alone for the visit is $200. Well I took out $220, adding in the OD fee, $256 dollars. It didn't last the week and a half I was trying to survive through with this $220 only because I had to pick up prescriptions and I got surprised because my psych doctor decided to prescribe me a 3 month supply of one of my medications and that copay was $45 on top of the $45 I was already having to spend for 3 other prescriptions. Due to this I had to withdraw another 60 dollars, a real kick in the nuts but still, that's not terrible in total. 256 + 96= 352. There was one instance where I accidentally paid with my card out of habit at the store instead of using cash so that was like $56. That should mean I was in the red by $408. Well I got paid today and this morning I opened my bank app to check my balance and saw that somehow I was in the red by nearly $700 before getting paid according to Truist. I called wanting an explanation, I was very polite at first but this lady kept on dodging the question I was asking which was essentially why in the world did you people take $700 dollars from me when I should have only been 400 dollars negative because $400 I can handle relatively ok, that sucks to get paid and immediately $400 of it was gone but I looked at it like I was taking a loan, and I would owe $36 for taking that money out. So how did you come up with me owing you $700 when I know it should be 400 maximum. SHE REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANY EXPLANATION! I don't mind paying them $100 bucks for taking out these "loans", remember one overdraft was by accident but they turned that 400 into 700 This bank will rob you. I know what my balance was prior to the initial overdraft and I only physically overdrafted my account 3 times. She would only say I'm sorry but there's nothing I can do because your account balance was negative and I would be like yes I know that because I told you exactly what I did, and she refused to give me any kind of straight answer. I explained to her that I have an autoimmune disease and some major stomach issues and psychological problems because I had a really bad childhood, and these health problems I have cost me a lot of money and was half of the reason I had overdrafted my account in the first place. I had medications to refill and I had 2 specialist visits in this timeframe ($60 dollar copays for specialist visits) so that's $210 alone. I needed groceries. I needed to repair my bike from getting hit by the car. I have no one to borrow from and I can't take a loan and since I defaulted on my student loans, my tax return which I desperately needed got taken by the government because they restarted the offset program. I typically don't mind this because it's sort of like paying towards the loan with one big payment in that year and it's fine by me, but it was nice for the last however many years to get my tax refunds and it just so happens that this year I really needed it to recoup a bunch of money I lost like from the car accident. I'm going through heck and this bank who I've banked with for like 8 years refused to do me the courtesy of refunding me what they robbed me for. I told her listen, I owe you $400 dollars not funking $700, you refuse to explain to me how this 400 became 700 and I am taking that as you flat out robbed me. I'm going to change my bank to cash app for my main bank account because they let you take $200 bucks after you hit 0 with no fees and they are just more reasonable all around. Funk Truist. There's nothing true about this bank other than they WILL take advantage of you when you are down.

BB&T on the whole is the single worst bank that I have ever had the displeasure of working with. I just went through all of my money and will be depositing it into a different Institution. As time permits I will be leaving negative feedback on every branch that I have wasted my time in. I do not see this Bank lasting too much longer in this competitive environment!
