  Extremely disappointing experience. I attempted to deposit a check issued by Finanta/Community First Fund, a known partner of the York County Economic Alliance. I was given inconsistent explanations regarding the availability of funds. Initially, I was told the delay was due to the amount of the check. Later, I was told it was because the branch had “never received a check from Finanta,” despite Finanta being affiliated with the same economic network as Bloom, whose checks they have accepted without issue. The branch manager stated there was no way to verify whether the check was valid, which is concerning given the issuer’s established reputation. This experience has significantly impacted my confidence in the institution. As a small business owner, this is not the level of support I expect from a bank that claims to serve local businesses. I will be moving my banking relationship elsewhere. Update: Unfortunately, no meaningful escalation occurred. I was contacted only to repeat the same unsupported explanations previously given, with no new information or resolution. As a result, I have filed a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
