- BBBrian ButzJan 23, 20193.0I'm a local contractor and one of my clients paid me with a check from Provident. Went to cash it at Provident and they were going to charge me $10.00. to cash. Equals about 10% of the amount. Let's look at this rationally. My customer pays the bank to keep their money and they want to charge me to use the account. Talk about customer service. I will no longer take checks from Provident. Of course I can deposit the check in my bank but the point is what happened to customer service?
