Setting up a Payable-on-Death (POD) beneficiary with OnPoint has been needlessly complicated compared to other banks. While institutions like Advantis, Rivermark, and Bank of America let me assign a beneficiary instantly online, OnPoint requires their customers to visit a branch in person or to send notarized documents. This outdated process adds unnecessary hassle, expenses, and is inaccessible for people with disabilities.
If OnPoint wants to stay competitive and keep customers happy, they need to modernize their system to match the convenience of other banks and credit unions. Until then, I’d recommend banking elsewhere if you value convenience and equal access.

They are so wonderful here! I’ve noticed that every time I come in and there’s a line (even if it’s just one person in front of me) they always acknowledge your presence and say “we’ll be with you very soon!” It’s so nice how they let you know they see you and that they’re conscious of your time. I just really love that!

We LOVE this branch. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. SO glad we switched to OnPoint for our Business Banking Accts. Seriously, these folks go above and beyond to just make things easy. My only regret is that I didn't switch to OnPoint years ago. But even for a Credit Union ( which are known for being personable and helpful to small business ) this branch in particular has a wonderful group of people working there. We've had nothing but exceptional service and care. Its stunning how much easier and more small business friendly OnPoint is than Chase. (I only bring up the "c" word because for a while I labored under the delusion that having a business banking relationship with a 'big' bank ( ie Chase) would be an advantage, in that they would have my back if I needed it. But actually, no. We found that even after having an established history with Chase, we still ran into issues that ranged from merely inconvenient to downright infuriating. I'm not saying this to dis Chase... the people at the branch always tried to help but their hands were tied by toxic Big Bank policies that are unnessarily unfriendly toward their customers. Long story short: OnPoint was able to help me from the very first day of opening my account with banking issues that Chase couldn't / wouldn't help me with, despite the fact that I have a ten year business banking relationship with them. The 'relationship' I thought I had had no bearing. Meanwhile I have been paying banking fees to Chase for non-service and Onpoint is free!
TL;dr: I'm just saying: if like me, you are a business owner and you are putting off opening an acct at a credit union because you thought having a 'big' bank for your small business was somehow better. DO take my advice and get outta that dysfunctional bank dynamic, and start enjoying a REAL banking relationship with the very helpful OnPoint Credit Union ( and if you're near the Hollywood neighborhood, I especially recommend opening your acct at this branch.)
