If you have the ability to exchange at your local bank or your home country well in advance of your travels, you may find better rates. That said, CEI @ PDX is about service, convenience and accessibility. I don't expect all to agree with this, but I must call out that the person behind the desk (David A.) went above and beyond, waiting for us to arrive after business hours to exchange our USD for EUR. We started with our local bank, but one delay after another and a shipping mishap left us in a predicament. David and CEI stepped up to assist us in the final hour of our need. I knew the conversion rates and that I would be paying a percentage for accessibility and convenience. No surprises and I was very thankful David answered our call, took the time to call back and waited well past office hours to meet us, explain the entire process and exchange our money.
