David is absolutely incredible! He is always so helpful, dependable, and makes the entire process effortless. I usually order currency before international trips, and he somehow always knows exactly what I need—often finishing my sentences before I do. Everything is always ready when he says it will be, and I can count on him to have every detail handled seamlessly. He knows flight times and gate info like the back of his hand, and when he picks up, I know I’m in good hands. David turns what could be a stressful process into a smooth and stress-free experience. I couldn’t be more grateful—thank you so much, David!

Currency exchange is complicated and involves several financial factors to consider. If you have the ability to exchange at your local bank or your home country well in advance of your travels, you may find better rates. That said, CEI @ PDX is about service, convenience and accessibility. I don't expect all to agree with this, but I must call out that the person behind the desk (David A.) went above and beyond, waiting for us to arrive after business hours to exchange our USD for EUR. We started with our local bank, but one delay after another and a shipping mishap left us in a predicament. David and CEI stepped up to assist us in the final hour of our need. I knew the conversion rates and that I would be paying a percentage for accessibility and convenience. No surprises and I was very thankful David answered our call, took the time to call back and waited well past office hours to meet us, explain the entire process and exchange our money.

This is a very bad place to exchange money, low compared to the world exchange rate, I exchanged 500 euros for 469 dollars, while the market rate is 500 euros for 585.82 dollars. I feel disappointed. You should not exchange money here. Good advice for you is to exchange money in your country before coming to the US, almost all banks in the US do not exchange money.

This place is the worst for exchanging your money. They have terrible rates plus they have $10 commission. I mean at least don’t charge a fee. We exchanged $240 for pesos and it was at least $35-40 loss for us as compared to exchanging in a central tourist district in Mexico. Don’t let yourself be ripped off.

Terrible rates. Not worth wasting your time. 17.35 Mexican pesos per dollar when rate is 20.2. In Mexico, it was 19.3-19.5. 19.3 at the airport in Cancun. He feeds you a line about why his rates are so low because he knows he’s robbing people and he’s insecure about it.
