Umpqua Bank helps people, businesses and communities find financial solutions that fit.
We do so by treating our customers like people, not numbers. We get to know them and find products and services that meet their needs and goals. And we give back to the communities we serve because it helps us all.
Umpqua offers the best of both worlds – the financial expertise and strength of a national bank with the customer service and care of a community bank.
They froze my acct for 7 days for no reason and never notified me they were doing so or called me to clear up the issue they had. The Bank Protection department put no notes in the file regarding why they froze the acct so I couldn't get any help outside business hours. I called 5 different times and spent hours on this only to find out the issue they were concerned about had been resolved BY THEM 6 weeks prior. They had even sent me a letter. AND the Alberta branch was supposed to notify me and never did. I have had no access to my money for 7 days. They are worthless. This is the worst and LAST of a string of mistakes by Umpqua Bank.

I've been banking here for a few years- the people are nice and the ambiance is better than at most banks. The ATMs are outdated (as of now Dec 2019) and are hard to read and take forever! For that reason you may opt to wait in a line to see a teller versus use the ATM

Love this bank. I've been coming here for years. The tellers are often advanced into other positions in the company and so can rotate through a few tellers, but I always find that I have a relationship with each person and they are wonderful. I'm in once a week.

I have been banking with Umpqua since they first opened in Salem around 2003 )I was a "charter member"!). For several years I loved the personal friendly service at the branches, the 800 phone service was always answered promptly, I opened a business account with them, and problems were usually resolved easily, I often received phone calls alerting me to potential problems with my account. Liked them so much that when I moved to a state with no Umpqua banks I kept them as my primary checking account, despite the access inconveniences, some of which I could resolve in my annual trips to OR.
Lately I have encountered more and more problems with this bank, seemingly coinciding with the Sterling merger and related changes. They have been extremely slow to come to the table with phone apps that allow photo deposit (finally just came out this month, I think?). I have had THREE card replacements issued by them in the past year due to potential large-scale retail fraud (reported by VISA, not me). The latest one they called me and promised to send a new card immediately....forward 3 weeks, tried to use my card forgetting it was going to be no good, was declined, realize I never received the replacement. Call to CS (with long hold), only to find out the replacement card was never sent, and (bonus!) their new system won't allow any new cards to be issued for another week, but they will then Fedex it (wow--I'm underwhelmed). My son has run into similar problems receiving replacement cards, so its not an isolated incident.
Sorry to see the downslide in service, glad I finally decided to switch my primary checking to a local bank or I wouldn't be able to buy my groceries!

Tired of faceless banking? I was until I started banking with Umpqua!
EVERY person that I have interacted with at Every location that I have visited has been happy, helpful and efficient. This is exactly what I demand from a bank. I also do my business banking here and would never consider working with another banking institution. Each branch is a little different, but, they all offer tools for my business that have proved invaluable. With their recent acquisition of Sterling Bank, things will only get better (more locations).
