- ESEric StevensFeb 18, 20251.0Went into the North Plains branch at 4 o’clock in the afternoon one hour before they closed needing to switch my sons parental joint account into his name and get a debit card since he just turned 16 and got a job and started driving. There’s four people working there and as soon as I walked in and told them what I needed their responses is, we’re shortstaffed and we don’t have time to make your transaction today. Please make an appointment for another day. After getting off early and Having him drive 20 miles out of his way to meet me at the bank early so we had ample time to get this taken care of. It’s frustrating.
- MSMichael StephensJan 25, 20241.0I withdrew $1400 from the ATM at this bank, but the machine only dispensed 20s so I went inside to ask them to exchange it for $100s. “Do you have an account with us? No? Well then we can’t help you because the Feds may think we’re helping you launder money.” Seriously? Had they asked, I could have shown them the receipts from their ATM machine, the debit card I used, my drivers license (with a home address one mile from their bank), and I could have even shown my Definitely-Not-A-Terrorist Global Entry ID. The fact is, they COULD have exchanged my cash, they just didn’t want to be bothered. I have to pay $3.50 every time I use their ATM, the least they can do is give me the option to withdraw larger bills. Update: In fairness to Umpqua Bank, I returned after a few months to give them another opportunity. Nothing has changed, they still won't exchange one legal US denomination for another. If you don't have an account they treat you like Pablo Escobar. And no, I'm not interested in having this conversation via a "secure method of communication".

Chase, US, Wells and the corporate giants are out of control with their fees. These local guys are here to support and take care of their neighbors. Our family is very happy banking here.
