As a result, they are the best bank and they are number one/#1. I hope I can stay a loyal customer as it's so hard to survive in this tyrannical system. - JCJana ClarkJul 14, 20241.0We were loyal Wells Fargo customers for 30 some years — until recently. While we have questioned certain business practices of theirs over our many years, we suffered only minor inconvenience from their decisions… until we had checks stolen from our mailbox. Yes, we immediately upgraded to a locking mailbox, but after reporting this via the customer service phone number it took us a week to get an appointment (no walk ins allowed) with a banker to discuss next steps. Unfortunately, the banker misled us and directed us to take steps that not only did not resolve the issue of forged checks being passed thru our account (using our savings account to pay “overdraft” amounts). Yes, we got our money credited back thru claims under fdic but the only solution to stopping the bank honoring these forged checks ended up being moving our checking account to another bank. On our final complaint to WF customer service we were told that yes we had been given unsound/incorrect advice on best steps, and so long as there was money in the account, the bank could offer no protection that the forged checks would not continue to be deducted from our account. So we found another bank where we could walk in(even on a weekend) and talk to a banker . Nice to have a bank with nationwide branches, but we decided customer service was more important… don’t expect any from WF.
