I’ve had an account with NWCCU since I was old enough to open an account. I have never had such a hard time getting assistance, service, or in contact with an employee with questions. This merger has turned what was once a wonderful credit union to something corporate, cold, and dysfunctional.

Been a member for 17 years. Without a doubt the worst call in customer service I’ve ever experienced since the merger with peak. Unable to call my local bank anymore and instead, after 15 minutes on hold by the worst customer service support person I’ve ever talked, I get transferred back to the original customer service person. I eventually had to drive down to the bank. Problem solved. But peak needs to pay attention! Try it yourself! Make a call with the intent of solving a problem and you’ll understand why you’re getting negative reviews. And, when the reply is AI generated it doesn’t help the matter. In a nutshell. Improved customer service should be your immediate goal!! Absolutely- please contact me. I’d be happy to share my experience. Call me anytime!

Do not, under any circumstances, do business with this company! In June 2024, I purchased a motorcycle using financing from this company (NWCU). I made a large down payment and received an interest rate of 8% or 9%. As required by the agreement, I insured the motorcycle through State Farm. However, in early August, State Farm notified me that they would be discontinuing the policy and that coverage would only remain active until early September. They advised me to find a new insurer. I quickly arranged a new policy with one of the largest and most reputable insurance companies in the US. They were happy to insure the motorcycle, and within less than a year, even reduced my premium by around 20%. The new policy became active the same day the previous one expired — there was no gap in coverage. Then, in January 2025 — right before an international flight to Europe — I got a call from NWCU claiming I didn’t have insurance coverage. I tried to explain that I was literally boarding the plane and couldn’t deal with it at that moment. A few days later, already in Europe, I received a notification about a missed payment — even though autopay was enabled! I logged into their website and app and saw that they had disabled autopay without any notice. Trying to contact them was a nightmare. They only take calls during business hours in Pacific Time, and they refuse to communicate via email because they consider it “insecure.” They also claim that their in-app chat is insecure, but somehow I managed to reach someone there and explain the situation again. I sent them proof of my valid insurance policy through their chat, because I had no other option — they had blocked every other form of communication. Even after I submitted the insurance proof, they did not reactivate autopay, and I had to manually transfer payments to an additional account (which, by the way, is a whole other complicated process). But they weren’t done with me yet! Right before my next payment — after I had returned from Europe — I discovered that my account had been completely blocked. I couldn’t access their website or app. After a week or two of trying to find out what happened and why they did this, I never got a clear answer. I decided to pay off the remaining loan and be done with them for good. But — surprise! — that was yet another quest. I couldn’t pay it all at once without going through more hoops and delays. Eventually, after several frustrating days, I managed to pay it off and finally walked away from these scammers. Thank God! ❗️P.S. My previously flawless credit score? Now damaged beyond repair — thanks to them.

SO FRUSTRATED with their online interface and debit card functionality. I am constantly receiving fraud alert calls (plus accompanying account holds) for standard transactions (like Uber, Lyft, and Paypal) which limits when I can use my card. This weekend I couldn’t use my card at all (and couldn’t withdrawal at an ATM nor even transfer to another member) because I exceeded some arbitrarily transaction frequency limit I’ve never encountered before. I cannot access any of my money, which leaves me unable to buy gas, food, pay bills, and more. I cannot contact anyone as their hours are limited on Saturday and they’re closed on Sunday. Unacceptable. I’m closing my account as soon as I can on Monday. Moving to a bank with more modern and functional policies and online infrastructure. In-person staff have always been helpful and courteous, but they can’t make up for the terrible experience I’ve had trying to use an NWCU debit card.
