I recently placed an order for some Canadian dollars. The employee I placed the order with admitted he did not know how to do that but when his colleague returned the order would be placed. He took down all the details and said the dollars would be available in 'a day or 2'.
Having heard nothing I went back late on the 4th day to see if my dollars had arrived. They had not and I was told it could be another 'day or 2'.
That time scale did not work for me so I cancelled the order and as this was the 2nd time they had messed up a similar transaction I told them I wanted to close my account.
They refused to close my account and return to me MY MONEY because they said there would be a fee involved with the transaction. As I had cancelled the order because THEY couldn't keep to THEIR time scale I was shocked.
I asked to speak with a manager but was told no one was available. I repeated that I did not want the dollars anymore and wanted MY MONEY. They refused. Essentially they were holding my money hostage to charge me a fee for my cancelling the order which was because THEY were incompetent.
I called their Customer Service number and they weren't much more help saying I had to deal with the branch. They did mention that I should just transfer my money electronically out the account which I did.
Today, they called to let me know the dollars had arrived despite my telling them many times I no longer wanted them.
Be warned, Key Bank will hold you responsible for fees that they made occur through their complete incompetence. They will also hold YOUR money hostage.

I deposited a check to an atm this last Sunday, and was told it would take until the next business day to post to my account. Ok that’s fine, understandable. Well today is that next business day, no funds. After several phone calls to different locations and offices I was told it wouldn’t be available for nine business days because the back office put a hold on it for some reason or another, no one seemed to know. After giving me the run around and holding my money no one can seem to tell me why they need to hold it for another 9 days, even though it’s already pulled from the account the check came from. I was also told they don’t check the atm until Thursday, so they couldn’t get it out of there until then. So to be clear, this bank only empties its atm on Thursday? What about all the people using that atm? Are they going to pay my late fees on my bills?
I will be switching banks as soon as they decide to stop playing around with my money. This is the reason people don’t trust banks. Sad.
Update: In response you’ve sent me a link I had to copy and paste that only leads me to a page asking what sort of account I am interested in setting up. The thing is this, I’ve tried to find where it says you have nine days to mess around with my money and it’s no where. So I was happy to have a link that would explain to me why, except that isn’t one. I will add this to the list of terrible customer service and treatment.
