- TFTony FJun 6, 20191.0Several years ago I was specifically told by my financial advisor TJ at this office that I could withdraw my IRA penalty-free to pay off student loans. I made plans to do this which involved some other financial rearranging and when I went to actually execute the withdrawal I was then advised by his superior that TJ had spoken in error and there was a penalty. So I had to change my plans. Not cool! Fast forward to this month when I had to again consider liquidating my IRA but this time because of financial difficulties. Patrick Moore gave me a very specific timeline of how long it would take to get the money into my bank account so I waited as long as possible to liquidate in the hopes I wouldn't have to (I'm in sales so I was hoping to get that oftentimes elusive paycheck at just the right time). But I did have to, so I made the request, filled out the required paperwork, and was again promised the funds would be in my bank account on a specific day as reported earlier. And I chose that specific day for a reason! That day came and went 2 days ago and when I called to find out what the delay was I was told there was some confusion as to the amount I needed to withdraw (no, there certainly wasn't) and it hadn't even been processed yet! Seriously? Yes there was some confusion but not on MY end! Knowing the particulars of my needs and when I needed the money (desperately I might add) why in the world didn't he call me if there was some lingering question(s) about the amount that needed answering before the liquidation could proceed? This is complete incompetence in my opinion. I have a single-minded business relationship with Patrick and his office...in the genre of my finances, of which I considered him an expert and relied on him to make it happen as he said he would, but did not. And this office has failed me twice now. I would absolutely NOT recommend this Edward Jones office to anyone, period. Fail.
