Here is the math: they have been paying about $500 per month. After nearly $3,000 in payments, only $200 has been applied to the actual loan principal. At this rate, only $200 of every $500 goes toward reducing the loan balance, which means it would take 50 months (over 4 years) to pay off just the $10,000 principal — while the company collects tens of thousands more in interest during that time. This kind of setup creates what is effectively an infinite repayment loop that preys on people’s lack of financial or language understanding. Proper disclosure was not provided, nor was an amortization schedule explained. This practice is predatory and unethical. Consumers deserve transparency about how much of their payment goes toward interest vs. principal. Without it, families are left paying for years with almost no progress toward the original loan.
