  DO NOT OPEN AN FHSA HERE. I opened mine with TD as they were one of the first to have it available, but they do not provide good support. Every step of the way, they have made it nearly impossible to withdraw my money. Here is a timeline of events: 2 months before closing on my house, I ask a personal banker the process for withdrawing from and closing my FHSA (which constitutes a substantial portion of my down payment). He tells me a week is "plenty of time." 10 days before closing on my house, I show up approximately an hour before the branch closes. Surprisingly, the branch had already closed an hour early, with a piece of paper on the door indicating such; I found no indication online of the early close. All I got was a "Sorry! Come back on another day!" The next day was a holiday, so I have to come back in 2 days. 8 days before closing on my house, I try again to get the money from my account. The teller says they need a special type of staff member to handle this, of which there are none available. I emphasize that my house closes in 8 days, but he schedules me an appointment for 3 days before closing and says that's my only option as that's their earliest appointment. 6 days before closing on my house, and not comfortable with waiting, I manage to secure a last-minute online appointment with a mutual funds advisor. Granted, this portion was not the fault of this branch: This was a branch in Kitchener; the advisor did not show up to the meeting nor answer my several phone calls and emails over the course of 45 minutes. Next, I call the TD Canada Trust complaint line. After 30 minutes of waiting and being transferred multiple times, all I'm able to get is an additional appointment on Monday. Apparently there was no availability in the 3 different branches near me over the next 2 days. So I stuck with my upcoming appointment. 3 days before closing (2 days before I need the money for the lawyers!), I finally have my appointment to get the funds from my FHSA for my down payment. I'm told that 3-5 business days is the guarantee. Not only that, but the advisor rewrote the FHSA qualifying withdrawal form (since I had mistakenly signed it in advance), and wrote down the wrong information (I should have verified his work more closely) which I realized after they had closed. I am now 2 nights before I need the money and regretting going with TD for this account.

  Terrible archaic bank. Took them 10 business days to cash a cheque right before long weekend.

  I lost my wallet yesterday with all my id and could only get part of it without a debit card. Thankfully Connor was there and saved my day. Such great and kind work. He took a lot of stress off my shoulders. That man deserves so much! Thank you TD!
