- NFNatasha FortierAug 22, 20251.0Went in with a certified cheque from Scotiabank and this branch put a 6 day hold stating it might be fraudulent. I’ve been a customer of TD for 40 years and never had done anything or gave them any reason to think I would give them fraudulent cheque. Called the main TD line about this and was told it was not TDs policy, each branch chooses to do it or not. And that once a branch puts a hold on it then no one from TD can correct this. What is the point of paying for a certified cheque from one bank just to have another hold the cheque anyways. Could have written a normal cheque. Will be closing my account with them.

I needed a guarantor for my name change and she was so respectful - she congratulated me on taking this step. She went through the trouble of reprinting the page for me to make sure that everything was done correctly. Times like this I am glad I'm a TD member!
