I was 2 1/2 years into a 5 year mortgage and knew when paying off my mortgage that I would incur a penalty. I expected a 3 month interest payment penalty and instead was faced with $11,180 penalty plus a $58 administration fee. All my endless phone calls and emails got me back $1000. It is criminal to say the least that they can feel free to take over $10,000 off of someone who has been a customer for 40 years and worked their whole life to save for retirement. It is 10 months rent payments gone for my loyalty to this institution. I am in the process of pulling every last cent from here and will never look back
